Abstract
Flying fish eggs are a fishery commodity with high economic value that requires proper post-harvest processing, especially during the drying stage. However, traditional drying methods have drawbacks such as dependence on weather and difficulty in temperature control. This study aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based flying fish egg drying system using a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller integrated with a DHT22 sensor, an LDR, and a rain sensor. Mechanical components include a heater, a fan, and a servo motor for an automatic roof. The system is equipped with a remote monitoring feature via the Telegram application, where users receive real-time notifications regarding device status (fan, heater, roof) and temperature parameter data. The design results show that the fan is automatically activated if the temperature is >37 degrees Celsius. When rain is detected, the servo closes the roof, and the heater and fan are activated to continue drying. When the rain stops, the LDR sensor determines whether the roof is opened based on light intensity. This system is expected to improve drying efficiency and facilitate monitoring for fishery businesses.
