Abstract
This study is motivated by the limitations of existing physiological monitoring systems for football athletes, which are generally conducted manually and lack integration, resulting in suboptimal performance evaluation. The main research question addressed in this study is how to design a monitoring system capable of measuring and integrating key physiological parameters, namely heart rate, body temperature, and oxygen saturation, in real-time before and after physical activity.
The objective of this study is to design and implement a microcontroller-based athlete performance monitoring system capable of simultaneously measuring multiple physiological parameters. The method involves hardware design using MAX30100 and MLX90614 sensors integrated with an Arduino Nano microcontroller, followed by system testing through multiple measurement sessions on participants before and after physical activity.
The results indicate that the system can measure heart rate, body temperature, and oxygen saturation in real-time with stable outputs within normal ranges, and effectively capture physiological changes due to physical activity. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of multi-parameter physiological monitoring into a portable system that can be used as a comprehensive tool for real-time athlete performance evaluation.
